jetpack_monkey: (Nic & Danny - Action Movie Classic)
Every six months I make up a list of my top 25 films of all time. Despite the "all time" bit, the list does change significantly every time I make it. Certainly there's a certain arbitrary-ness to it, but hey... I've been doing it since 2001.

Format is Rank) Title (Director, Year) [Previous rank]

The rest... )

And now, for the first time, the list of candidates that didn't make the cut (but just barely):

Oooh, more films )

First, thanks to all of the people who wished me happy birthday. I'll try to get around to everyone individually tomorrow.

Second, it's that time of year and I've whipped up my semi-annual Top 25 Films. Lots of newcomers this time, plus more Billy Wilder and Cary Grant than you can shake a stick at.

Behold for I bring you list )

Yes, argue the point that it can't really be of all time if I change it every 6 months, but it doesn't change the fact that I'm posting a large list of films I consider awesome. It's something I do every February and August. Tradition.

Oh, and I've officially named slot 25, which is where I put one film that I absolutely love, despite the fact that there's others out there that I think are better. A film that taps into my own personal brainpan for reasons that science cannot fathom. It is now called the Geekgasm slot.

The list follows )

From each of your fandoms, choose your favorite character, 'ship and episode. One only!

This is going to take a while )
jetpack_monkey: (Amelie - The Scurf of Yesterday's)
Every six months, I put together a list of the Top 25 Films of This Time, i.e the movies that I currently think are the swellest of the swell. Some films haven't left the list since I started keeping it in the Fall of 2001. Others have come and gone...

And winnahs are... )

Yeah, I can't sleep, so I'm whipping up my (belated) Semi-Annual Top 25 Favorite Movies list. Every six months (on my birthday and half-birthday), I shift, re-order, and update my list of my 25 favorite movies ever made. The only qualifying factor is that I must have the film on either VHS or DVD. Movie downloads do not count (sorry, Rosencrantz, Guildenstern).

This year's list, under the cut is presented in the following format:

#) Title of Film (Director, Year of Release) {#-Rank Six Months Ago}

I'm such a dork )
