Meh.

Got a little more interesting towards the end of the second hour, but about the only thing working for me that episode was Marshall and the few glimpses we got of Doughboy. They tossed a new concept at us and then expected us to just deal with it as they rocketed ahead to a bunch of same old same old heists and double crosses.

Oh, and they killed Spymommy off-screen. I'm aware Lena Olin's not coming back, but that's such a huge disservice to the character. I hope it's all a ruse, because otherwise, I'm going to be pissed.

Also, the all-white look of APO? Not doing it for me. What happened to the neat design architecture of SD-6 and the Rotunda?

One thing that did work for me is that Spymommy tried to kill Syd. I always knew she would try if it was within her interests. I still hold that it was she who was behind the Covenant last year (and can I just say, I was never so relieved as I was when I realized that they hadn't been brought up once?).

Anyway, I hope they bring it up in the next few eps. I'll watch all season, but if this is the "new and improved" Alias, I'll take the one that had me yelling at the screen. At least I was involved there.
