Cut for the reasons that one cuts an entry )

In other news, they can't fix my air conditioning until later, and it's a lovely 90 degrees here in Phoenix. I'm shedding enough water to fill a Big Red Sphere.

Dude. Now THAT's what I'm talkin' about.

Not a ton of thoughts about last night's weekly television block (which has spilled over into Tuesdays now so I can watch Veronica Mars). I was trying to be attentive and all, but I'm easily distracted by Trillian (looks at [livejournal.com profile] airawyn and [livejournal.com profile] seeshellirun).

Making your own Lost episode is easy! Witness my own below:

"We're stranded on this island!"

"I know we're stranded on this island!"

"Kate, come move to the caves!"

"I'm so confused! Dirty con artist skank or successful and heroic doctor with the personality of a log?"

"Well, darlin', you could come over here and give me some sugar..."

"Dudes, would everybody just chill out?"

"I love you! I hate you! I love you! I hate you!"

"Back atcha, sis!"

"I shall continue my electronics work and attract a much smaller fanbase than I deserve."

"The key to hunting is to be ambiguous about whether you're going to betray everybody... I mean, it's about black and white, good and evil..."

"Bollocks. Kipper. Top of the pops. I'm a bloody rock star. 'You all everybody!'"

(indecipherable Korean)

(indecipherable Korean) "I can speak English, but don't tell anybody! SHHHHH!"

"It's okay, I'm too busy working on these complicated designs for home amenities, even though I'm just a construction worker with a kid... Where is that kid?"

"I'm right here! You don't really care! Wanna play? If not, I can go get completely twisted by Mistah Locke!"

Maybe it's seeing the series in sequence (rather than a bunch of different episodes here and there, scattershot with Buffy and Angel), but I actually have a ship I'm pretty hardcore about with Alias. So much so that I actually had photo manip thoughts last night (kill me).

Syd/Weiss. It's my OTP.

I'm through the first 2 discs of Season 3, and even though this season's arc doesn't feel as cohesive, a lot of the individual episodes are pretty damn cool. Although I wish for spoilers )

Oh, yeah. And "Lost" was awesome last night. Support your local Buffy alumni (in this case, David Fury). Catch it every Wednesday, during Sowhatville's time slot, but on ABC.

Well, off to work!

Sucked in. That's what I am. I just finished Disc 3 of Season 2, and I'm halfway through Disc 4 (with the SHOCKING, yes SHOCKING post-Super Bowl episode, complete with gratuitous shots of Jennifer Garner in very, ah, revealing lingerie). It's an interesting series - it keeps me guessing at its twists and turns, makes me salivate for the next disc... but I'm not sure I'd spend actual money to buy it.

I think the problem is that the episodes just flow one into the other - its a big 16+ hour arc, and popping in one individual episode seems like it would be nigh-on impossible. Whereas Buffy and Angel tend to be comprised of individual episodes that tend to have satisfying beginnings, middles, and ends, even if they are part of a larger arc. You can pop in Calvary or Touched individually, even though they are very arc-centric episodes, and not necessarily have to worry about watching three episodes on either side to make the arciness more complete.
