VID: Invincible (James Bond)
Aug. 15th, 2011 01:58 pmStraight from Club Vivid to your eyeballs, here's a little ode to that nearly 50 year institution of British culture, the man of multiple actors... no, not that one. The one with the Aston Martin.
Vid Title: Invincible
Length: 2:06
Song: OK Go - Invincible
Source: James Bond (official EON series, 1962-2008)
Warnings: Violence (PG-13 variety)
Summary: Bond. James Bond.
Password: astonmartin
Download Link: 24.7MB MP4 (H.264) (ctrl/cmd-click and "download link as")
Notes: Premiered at Club Vivid 2011. I spent about a month on this one (although I'm not quite sure, because I wasn't keeping track). There's at least one clip from each of the 22 official EON Bond movies (I very nearly put in something from Never Say Never Again, but decided against it).
Many thanks to my fantastic betas:
echan,
diannelamerc, and
lizbetann. Special love for the crowd at Club Vivid this year who seemed to dig this a lot.
My other two vids from Vividcon will go up after I fix some technical issues with the titles. Sleep now.

Date: 2011-08-16 07:20 am (UTC)Lazenby just did the one (On Her Majesty's Secret Service), but it's good! It's the most faithful of all the films to the book it's based on, which means it's paced very differently than Bond films you might be used to. That said, it's fun and Bond gets a little depth at the same time.

Date: 2011-08-16 07:33 am (UTC)I loved the Daniel Craig "reboots" of Bond. Just the right blend of character study, action and realism. It was nice to have some of the cheesy (albeit fun) trappings dropped and go back to what was, essentially, the canon text.
After that I love both Pierce Brosnan and Timothy Dalton's runs in equal measure. Roger Moore not so much and Sean Connery -- yes -- very much.

Date: 2011-08-16 07:58 am (UTC)In process of making this, I found that each Bond had something they contributed to the overall Bond "thing" and I appreciated them all. Roger Moore's even pretty good, even if he wears out his welcome in the 1980s.
