Straight from Club Vivid to your eyeballs, here's a little ode to that nearly 50 year institution of British culture, the man of multiple actors... no, not that one. The one with the Aston Martin.

Notes: Premiered at Club Vivid 2011. I spent about a month on this one (although I'm not quite sure, because I wasn't keeping track). There's at least one clip from each of the 22 official EON Bond movies (I very nearly put in something from Never Say Never Again, but decided against it).

Many thanks to my fantastic betas: [personal profile] echan, [livejournal.com profile] diannelamerc, and [livejournal.com profile] lizbetann. Special love for the crowd at Club Vivid this year who seemed to dig this a lot.

My other two vids from Vividcon will go up after I fix some technical issues with the titles. Sleep now.

I have watched all of the Bond movies (except the Lazenby ones, sorry . . . ) and many of them several times over. They are a guilty pleasure and a constant joy.

So watching this was pretty epic. I like how you blended the different Bonds and I love the song choice.

It was a lot of fun trying to get one Bond to move into the next. I have a huge chunk of one of my notebooks filled with random notes on that.

Lazenby just did the one (On Her Majesty's Secret Service), but it's good! It's the most faithful of all the films to the book it's based on, which means it's paced very differently than Bond films you might be used to. That said, it's fun and Bond gets a little depth at the same time.

Mmmm, yes, that's right! His contract was for more than one film but it definitely didn't pan out.

I loved the Daniel Craig "reboots" of Bond. Just the right blend of character study, action and realism. It was nice to have some of the cheesy (albeit fun) trappings dropped and go back to what was, essentially, the canon text.

After that I love both Pierce Brosnan and Timothy Dalton's runs in equal measure. Roger Moore not so much and Sean Connery -- yes -- very much.

Lazenby became convinced that James Bond was a passing fad and would be career Kryptonite, so he did everything he could to get fired. Whoops.

In process of making this, I found that each Bond had something they contributed to the overall Bond "thing" and I appreciated them all. Roger Moore's even pretty good, even if he wears out his welcome in the 1980s.

Given I am not a huge Bond fan (although I have seen a lot of the movies, as it's something my daddy and I used to watch together) and didn't know the song, I'm impressed with how much I enjoyed the vid! That was a lot of fun and I loved the progressive opening gun site montage thing. That was cool.

Bond movies are among the few things that my dad and I share in terms of cinematic interest.

The progressive gun barrel montage thing was probably the first thing I laid down. It seemed so *right*.

Which are your Bonds? Or is it all of 'em?

It is, in fact, all of them. Bond was one of my very early fandoms. :)

Mine too. Of those fandoms handed down to me by my parents, almost all of them come from my mom, but this one is something I share with my dad.

Dad and I aren't particularly close, but I do remember watching The Man with the Golden Gun with him and hearing him kvetch about how Moore wasn't really Bond.

Haha, I loved Moore in all his cheesy glory. Oh, Moonraker.

Moore's a lot of fun until the 1980s. The Moore era is when they really ratcheted the over-the-top Bond Thing to 11. And I love it a lot.

SQUEEE, as soon as I finished my Casino Royale and QoS rewatch I came to re-download this and watch over and over. I'm just glad it didn't slip my mind that I hadn't commented on it during my Bond rewatch:

THIS VID IS SO MUCH FUN, you got so many of the great moments from the franchise. And what a fun song choice for it too, ♥ ♥ ♥
