[personal profile] echan and I have been wending our way through Bones (nearly through Season 4) and Dexter (slowly working on Season 2) over the past couple of weeks. Dexter is sheer brilliance and Bones is, well, Bones is love. It amuses me far more than it should (note that I rarely latch onto series without supernatural/sci-fi elements).

If somebody could point me to some good Bones icons, I would be much obliged.

I've also been eagerly awaiting the series finale of Lost. I stopped watching the show midway through Season 2, then picked it up again 3-4 months ago via Netflix Instant Watch. I've been on the painful weekly schedule for about two months now. How did you people do this for six years? Seriously.

New Doctor Who still has to impress me. The Weeping Angels two-parter was quite good, but my problem remains that Matt Smith still feels like a little boy playing dress-up. I think a lot of it has to do with his slight case of mush-mouth. Somebody suggested that he's playing more with the Classic Who mold of acting, so I may go back and watch some older serials to get back into that headspace.

Other than that, I'm intrigued by the whole crack in space plot.

I also caught the Nightmare on Elm Street remake in the theaters. ... Yeah, that's all I have to say about that.

Doctor Who wise, I do think there's a slight disconnect between those of us who grew up with the classic series, as we're more used to the changes of Doctor and take each one on their own merits. To me, he's more in the classic mode certainly than Tennant. Perhaps that's why I took to him almost immediately.

Couldn't agree more. I gave up because every time it came to turn off the clown and become the fearsome doctor that terrified the universe, something Nine & Ten did so well, he comes across as a spoilt child having a tantrum at mummy.

Writing was fine, and the gal playing Pond was better than I thought she'd be, but just no.

I actually thought he finally brought the righteous anger, as well as the sweeter side of 9 and 10, in this last episode.

Also, the classic Doctor he's reminding me of more and more is 2. The Troughton serial "The Mind Robber" is very good and available streaming on Netflix.
