Mommy, the Web Toy Confuses Me!

jetpack_monkeyThe Gender Genie is a tool that allows you to enter 500 words of text, select whether its fiction, non-fiction, or a blog post and then it will tell you if the text was written by a male or a female.
It keeps telling me I write like a girl. I find this kind of amusing.
ETA: I've run a few of my Classic-Horror.com reviews through as non-fiction and the tool finds me indisputably male. Then again, it also finds![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
midnightfae's reviews to be male-ish, also. Apparently, only guys use the word "the" a lot. Damn those specific definite articles.

Date: 2007-02-16 05:29 pm (UTC)Overuse of 'and' and 'was' is my downfall apparently, otherwise all my stuff would be written by a guy. Maybe I should just write shorter, less convoluted sentences and avoid the past tense.
