jetpack_monkeyMom and I were driving to pick up a prescription for me when we started in on the topic of Quentin Tarantino and why his films are just so darn clever. Both of us really like listening to the patter of Pulp Fiction's dialouge. Mom's opposed to the violence, but I pointed out that it's supposed to make you a little uneasy. In any case, we eventually came around to the character of Jules. Mom forgot exactly what happened with him, so I explained: he became a shepherd and walked the Earth.
And then the Fandom Thought struck me. What if Jules from Pulp Fiction was the inspiration for Book on "Firefly"?

Mal: (to Jules) You're a Shepherd?
Jules: Take a look at the outfit, bitch. Now, tell me this ain't gonna be a problem, mothafucka.
Kaylee: Of course not! (to Mal) It's no problem, 'cause it's not.

Mal: (sarcastic cute voice) Yeah. He's my hero.
Jules: That boy gave up everything down to the gold-plated tit-rings on his bitches to free his sister from the motherfuckin' Alliance. Goin' from being a doctor on the mothafuckin' Central Planets to hiding at the ass-end of the 'verse? Shit. Can't think of a mothafucka who'd do that.
Mal: Suppose not.

Jules: Mothafuckin' incontrovertible. (beat) It is somewhat fuzzier on
the subject of feet.
