Mass Media, Part 2 is up.

Hope you like it.

First off - I don't have to work tomorrow, so I can see [livejournal.com profile] cyperian, who is in town. This also involves hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] kitesareevil and possibly [livejournal.com profile] ropa. This can't be a bad thing. Or, actually, it could in certain extreme circumstances, but seeing as how those are deeply unlikely and I'm so darn lovable, I doubt it would go there.

Second - Anchor Bay is sending me the Dawn of the Dead Ultimate Edition DVD for absolutely free. All I have to do is stick some clips up on the website and review the sucker. Seeing as how this was a DVD I was seriously considering just splurging on anyway? Pretty damn lucky if I do say so myself (which reminds me - I should start reviewing Buffy and Angel seasons so I can score free screeners there, too).

Third - Did some major fanwankery for "Heroes" and was very proud of the results. And the pages and pages of handwritten notes, with interesting shorthand like 9: LB, A, Sh (poss. CD/Dep)

Also, I have to say that this week's ep by SoulVamp (who enough folks know the identity of) has to be my FAVORITE. EVER. Other than that one about the superhero slayer. That one was the ultimate. While you're at the site, check out the shiiiinny new design that I whipped up.

Plus, on the "improving my lot in life" side of things, I'm learning PHP and mySQL so I can refit Classic-Horror with a strong database backbone - or at least make the reviews updatable by many people without giving up my precious FTP access. If I manage any future web design jobs, these will be quite handy.

My first episode of Heroes - "In Brightest Day, In Darkest Night (1.4)" - went up on Tuesday. The reason for the delay in announcing is that the Expanded Fic was posted just now, after a lot of insanity (mainly that it ended up being a 12,000 word behemoth written, for the most part, in a 48 hour period).

Anyway, please do enjoy!

Well, my new computer is supposed to arrive today. One may ask why I'm at my mother's library right now instead of, say, waiting for it patiently, bumping my butt up and down on the metal folding chair I use as my computer seating (and occasionally television seating if the English captions are too small to read from the futon - damn 13" set).

I have an interview. At two. For an administrative assistant position, and by golly, I think I might get it. Mainly because the ad proudly proclaimed No Experience Necessary and Will Train - and since I have experience already, and am a Computer Wiz(!), I think I have a shot.

Plus, I look good in a tie and dress shoes.

So, yeah. Wish me employment, so that I can afford to fly out to see my girlfriend in August and buy used prop Kleenex signed by the key grip of Buffy Season 3 at Comic-Con.

Oh, and a fresh episode of Heroes is up, for those interested.

While most of my flist meshes with [livejournal.com profile] veggiebelle's significantly, I would be remiss not to announce my involvement in an exciting new project ("Heroes") with [livejournal.com profile] airawyn, Veggiebelle, and SoulVamp. It's a multi-format fanfiction consortium, picking up the pieces of "Buffy" and "Angel" and creating a new cast, a new future, a new season of adventures.

I'm really excited to be taking part in this. It's a new kind of storytelling in a lot of ways, and it will really be a great way to develop my mad writin' skillz.

So, yes, come visit. Bookmare http://heroes.councilofwatchers.com and tune in every week on Tuesday for exciting new stories.
