Alright, long story... well, not long story short, because I don't know how to tell a short story, do I?

I run a horror film website. Type the words Classic Horror into Google and hit I'm Feeling Lucky - you're there. Or just type http://www.classic-horror.com into your browser if you're not fond of hoop-jumping. Anyway, I've been running this thing for nearly five years now, and pretty well, too - until the behemoth came.

A man who I was friendly with on another horror board approached me and offered to redesign the site for free. All he wanted was the opportunity to write some reviews. And I said, sure, because I could use a little visual lift. Now, first of all - it turned out that this guy was one of the better writers I'd ever "hired" on, so I had no qualms on that end. Secondly, he was pretty damn good at what he did, graphically.

My approach to graphics is pretty clunky and very, um, heavy. They're built to be navigated, they're not built to look pretty. I design in HTML, and then if I need a graphic, I'll whip something craptastic up.

So, he comes back to me with this design that's amazing. It's incredible. It's also... going to be a shitton of work for me to transfer. See, he added new infomrational sections to the reviews, stuff that I'd wanted to do, needed to do, and he promised he'd help with the transfering of things... until he leaves. For a different site. About 25% of the design work incomplete, and about a third of the data moving.

I'm asking that if you're a fan of horror films, or if you know somebody who's a fan of horror films who doesn't mind mindless research, to get in touch with me.

I have about 150 titles I'm trying to transfer to the new design, and it would help if I could skip the research aspect of all lot of that.

What it would entail is visiting the Internet Movie Database and getting some rudimentary information - Title, Year of Release, Director, MPAA Rating, Running Time, Studio, Four Most Prominent Actors (and three other films horror or not, that they've been in), Writer (and three other films), and any Trivia you can glean.

I can assign a lot or a few titles, but if you want to do this, you have to do the titles you commit to. A person can do just 5. A person can do 25. It's up to them - so long as it gets done.

I'm honestly not expecting a huge response, but even just a little relief would be nice. For your troubles, I'd leave a little credit on the reviews you did stating - Information gathered by ____ and a thank you note in the About section.

The new design can be seen here - http://testme.classic-horror.com - if you want a point of reference.

Yes, DA. Dylan Adams. I'll end up using it here at some point anyway.

And I got your e-mail this morning - I'm planning on archiving the fic on my Bard site if that's all right, instead of linking to it elsewhere.

Great! Also, I've found a few typos that I missed, so I can send you a new version. Would you prefer .doc or .txt?

Hrm. .doc, actually. I've been meaning to test out Dreamweaver's Word conversion tool.
