Notes: I finished this vid before I even got to my assignment. That's how many feelings I have about A League of Their Own. When I met Lori Petty, I spent half the time telling her how much my sister loves her in Tank Girl and the other half on my own personal gushes about this film.

Although I have been a fan of this film for ages, I realized as I was vidding how significant it was to me and where I was in my life right now. This movie is about people who do this thing they love, but don't have a community, who then find that community and get to live their love out loud. It resonates because that's also the story of how I found vidders and Vividcon and some of the closest, most wonderful friends anybody could ask for (I have a really hard time imagining a male-driven source that would have a similar emotional resonance for me).

oh my god, I think my heart just literally swelled. This is wonderful. And I love your analogy to vidding/fandom - I'd never thought about it, since this vid was such a part of my childhood, but it's totally apt.
