Saw Napoleon Dynamite. Most people seem to either love it or hate it. I'm strangely in the middle. I didn't like most of the characters, but that's okay for the most part because they usually hung themselves on their own rope. The cinematography was interesting, though not really spectacular. The script meanders and weaves and there's no real point, but I never mind that. One of my favorite films is Manhattan, after all.

It kept my attention. I came away with it bearing it no ill will and I was actually keen to watch the special features. Tina Majorino may have a lot to do with that. She's charming as usual, not to mention hot.

I guess if you really wanted to make a movie entirely based on character tics, this would probably be the best version of that film.

It's weird, actually. I thought no film could supplant Annie Hall as my favorite Woody Allen movie, but Manhattan is a more mature film (if maturity can be applied to the works of a middle-aged adolescent). His themes are more focused, and it's probably the best representation of the Woody character: pathetic, yet likable despite himself.
