Notes: Yes, I posted this last week, but now I wanted to make a proper vid post. This vid marks the end of the thirteen year run of Classic-Horror.com, the site that I ran since I was 16 years. As such, it is occasionally mournful and occasionally celebratory. It is, of all my vids, the most reflective of me. It combines clips from over 200 different horror movies, some popular, some incredibly obscure (and all of which have been reviewed on Classic-Horror.com).

It's been three years in the making, so there are a lot of people to thank for their help and notes and encouragement -- folks like [livejournal.com profile] midnightfae, [personal profile] echan, [livejournal.com profile] bradcpu, [livejournal.com profile] lizbetann, and [livejournal.com profile] diannelamerc. I'm sure I'm forgetting somebody.

Is it kind of a hodgepodge? Yes. I have a much better vid about horror and its history in me and I may make that someday. But this is the vid it needed to be for the time I made it. I hope you enjoy it.

This was wonderful. I kept recognizing bits and squealing in delight - seeing Luna from "Mark of the Vampire" made me lose my shit so thoroughly that I scared my cat. The timing was impeccable, and whether you meant it to be funny or not, I found Vincent Price's five billion appearances hilarious. The ending shot from Dr. Caligari was just the icing on the cake (or the blood on the knife, as it were). Thank you for reminding me of so many movies that have made me happy over the years.

Ahhh, this is wonderful, I love it! So many great films and your love for the genre is just so clear throughout, it's so awesome to see. And excellent song choice, too! Lovely homage to the site.

I had no idea that a horror vid could be so uplifting and inspiring. It's such a strange and beautiful gem. The way you pulled out intersections and diversion across so many source is deft and an original breath of fresh air for me. Thanks for making me figuratively shit my pants at 3:25.

Aw, that was fantastic!! (I've been kinda sporadic about LJ lately, so I missed your earlier post.) I'm curious about how many movies do you think you used? Everytime I recognized one I'd seen, my brain went "yay!" Also, I 2nd [livejournal.com profile] kiki_miserychic's comment that you made horror uplifting & inspiring. :D

And congratulations on 13 years! That is truly amazing. You should be very proud of that accomplishment.

Bravo! Gigantic effort - I can see why it took 3 years to craft that masterpiece! My little horror heart was squeeing with glee.
