jetpack_monkey: (The Doctor (10) - ZOMG)

I'm watching an obscure British horror film called Blood on Satan's Claw (1971) and it features a fresh-faced young woman in a supporting role as a 13 or 14 year old village girl. And she's freakin' familiar and it's weirding me out.

Yeah, so it turns out that it's Wendy Padbury, AKA Zoe Heriot, one of the Second Doctor's companions and Queen of Awesome Space Catsuits. What's especially disconcerting is that Padbury left Doctor Who in 1969, two years before the movie I'm watching was made.

Did I mention that Padbury was 23-24 in 1971?

(Anthony Ainley is also in this, but he's beardless and therefore I didn't recognize him without the IMDb telling me which character he was playing)

ETA: Oh GOD ZOE NO!

That's funny that you mention that because the same thing happened to me only reverse. I saw John Pertwee in The House That Dripped Blood long before I discovered Doctor Who. I remember seeing the third doctor and I said, "Hey, it's the guy that wore that cape and turned into a vampire only to be killed by Ingrid Pitt."

Maybe I should start watch those old Hammer or British horror movies and see if I can point out anyone from Doctor Who.

Patrick Troughton (Second Doctor) was all over Hammer Horror back in the day. Tom Baker did his share of horror appearances (mostly pre-Fourth Doctor) and Lalla Ward (Romana II) was in Vampire Circus with Robin Sachs (Ethan Rayne from Buffy the Vampire Slayer).

...Isn't that the movie where Wendy's character gets raped by evil or something like that?

Phew!

Poor Zoe. I think she's adorable, and that would bother me so much!
