That's right -- a full ten months after the last part, here comes a new bit for my Doctor Who/Supernatural crossover.

Title: Right Place, Wrong Time
Author: Jetpack Monkey
Fandoms: Supernatural, Doctor Who
Spoilers: Supernatural through 2x03 "Bloodlust" and Doctor Who Season 3 (general).
Summary: It would be an average hunt for the Brothers Winchester if it wasn't for the weirdo alien with the massive attention deficit.
Previous Parts: 1 2 3

"An honest-to-goodness motel, Martha! Look!" The Doctor ran his hands along the faux-wood paneling. "Ooh, have they got scratchy towels?" He bolted for the bathroom and his hands over the bath sheets. "Oh, brilliant! Americana at its finest. Spare no cut corner and all that."

Sam's eyebrows raised. "You'd think he'd never been in a motel before."

"I don't think he has," Martha said, grinning. "A first for the Doctor. That's not something you see every day."

"Well, that's really great for him, but if we could stop dicking around..." Dean smacked the Doctor's hand away from the coin slot for the vibrating bed.

"Oi!"

"Can it, Hugh Grant. I want answers."

"Which ones? My favorite is 42."

Dean laughed. It wasn't an amused laugh. It was a laugh that said, among other things, 'oh please please please give me a reason to break your beaky nose.' "Real funny."

"Dean, can I talk to you?"

"Not now, Sammy." Dean's glare remained fixed on the Doctor.

"Dean. Please."

Dean made a blunt, frustrated noise. "This better be good." He pointed at the Doctor. "Don't go anywhere."

"Wouldn't dream of it," the Doctor said, bouncing on the balls of his feet.

---

After walking a sufficient distance away from the thin walls of the motel room, Sam turned to Dean. "What is up with you, man?"

"I don't like him."

"Yeah, I got that. We all got that. People in the next state got that."

"Have you looked at him? He's not taking this seriously. It's like he's playing with us."

"Since when are you the serious one about a case? You're usually the first one out with the idiotic joke."

Dean opened his mouth. And then he closed it again. And then he opened it. "Yeah, but I'm actually funny."

"Not usually," Sam said, the corners of his mouth turned up slightly. "All this hostility's not helping us any, Dean. The angrier you get, the goofier he gets."

"Which pisses me off more. If he's trying to defuse the situation, he's doing a piss-poor job."

"Look, we go back in, let me deal with him, okay?"

Dean muttered something under his breath.

"What?"

"Fine, it's fine. Great. You take on the fruit in the suit. Perfect." Dean turned and headed back for the room.

Sam rubbed the bridge of his nose. This was going to be a long, long day.

--

After Sam and Dean were a sufficient distance from the thin walls of the motel room, Martha turned to the Doctor. "What exactly do you think you're doing?"

The Doctor had his sonic screwdriver out and buzzing. "Scanning."

"No, I mean with that Dean character."

"Oh, that? I like him. Bit of a temper, though. Can't be good for him. Needs to lighten up."

"People are dying, Doctor."

The Doctor gave Martha a heavy look. "I know that."

"You're not helping. The more manic you get, the more hostile he becomes."

"You noticed that, too, ay?" The sonic flashed at a leather diary on the table by the window.

Martha crossed her arms. "If you're trying to defuse the situation, you're having a poor time of it."

The sonic went into the Doctor's jacket pocket and the brainy specs came out. "Yeah, sorry. Don't get out to the boonies of America much. Whole fascinating subculture here." He cracked open the diary. "Plus a bonus of Winchesters. Did you know that they stop the apocalypse in 2012? Don't tell them that, of course."

"Don't tell us what?" Dean said, entering the room.

"Um, well, ah..." Martha stammered as Sam followed Dean in.

"What aren't you telling us?" Dean asked again.

If it wouldn't have looked completely out of place, Sam would've slammed his head against the door frame at that point. This was going to be a very, very, very long day.

*cracks up as Dean grows ever-more-hostile, and Sam facepalms* Wonderful Doctor voice, as usual, nice job with the parallel conversations, and yay! More fic!

Oh, I wasn't. But then inspiration hit again -- not an idea, really, because this is really just a replay of part 2 -- but just the desire to write some more.
