Okay. Dudes. Seriously. The best way to prove that you are not going to be iffy like Season 3 is by keeping the gang together better. Everything was freakin' pairs. Barney and Lily. Barney and Robin. Ted and Stella. Ted and Marshall. Also, Marshall and Robin get pretty shafted in all of this.
Now that I have that out of the way...
BARNEY HAS BEEN INFECTED BY FEELINGS! YOUR ODE TO BIMBOS CANNOT FOOL ME!
Ahem. I like how they're letting Barney deal with the Robin thing in a very Barney way -- by playing a part to lure the vixen into his... boyfriend zone. Except boyfriend, ew. He just wants to smell her hair and be with her every second of every day. He doesn't want a commitment.
Also, NPH was robbed at the Emmys. I'm just sayin'.
Ted and Stella plotline was less interesting. We knew she was going to say yes -- otherwise she would've answered at the end of Season 3 and there would've been a moping montage. The Star Wars thing was... okay, I guess. I like the idea, but it really needed to be pushed. Brought to the next level. Heightened. I think it would've been funnier, honestly, if Marshall had been watching with Stella, sekritly vetting his best friend's fiancee for him.
Also, I'm taking odds right now that...
- Ted and Stella break-up before the wedding
- Ted leaves Stella at the altar
- Stella leaves Ted at the altar (my personal favorite)
- Messy divorce
- Clean divorce
- Stella's the mother
In conclusion, welcome back, show! Now shape up!

I don't think that Stella is the mother, personally. It's about how he MET her, and clearly they've already met. I'll likely believe that until proven wrong.
