Yeah, that ended up pretty much as I thought it would, with a few twists. I blame Deus Ex for ganking the ending for plot point (although with less cleverness). Still, a damned good read.

Also, I've figured out how to work around the plot similarities in my unfinished novel without altering my basic plot mechanics too too much.

Working on Summer Knight right now so I can continue the Dresden Files and so that [profile] midnightfae will stop pouting about not being able to share plot points with me.

I feel like I should be reading these books. I had a look at the guest list for Balticon, which is primarily SF literary based, and I know nothing. I feel like such an inadequate SF fan.

Really? This is my second time trying because I was struggling the first time I started it.

Yeah, I'm not sure what specifically I responded to. Maybe just because I'm not really a "faerie lit" person and so because I wasn't expecting much, I ended up being pleasantly surprised.

So far, it's probably one of my least favorite. :(

It's been so long since I read it that I can't remember what the next one is about. I've got to get back to that series. How far are you, anyway?

I just finished Small Favor. Butcher needs to write faster.

I need to READ faster. I haven't even gotten to that book yet! XD

I think specifically because he doesn't write faster, I got sidetracked by other things after Blood Rites and just never caught back up now that I have less time to read for fun.

If it gets you going, in Dead Beat (the next one you need to read) Harry rises to all knew levels of Bad Ass.

I forget which one Summer Knight is... I breezed through the first eight Dresden books a few months ago.

I got the ninth one recently, but haven't read it yet.

Neuromancer ending: I'm still trying to figure that out, years later.

Harry is actually the grandson of the Winter Queen. /spoils.
