2007 in Review
Jan. 2nd, 2008 01:30 pmI was a little busy being sick-to-death to do one of these at the appropriate time, but here's a list of things that happened in 2007:
January
* Played some more
fandomhigh as Eric Weiss (
weissguy_) and brought back that force of righteous paranoia Number 6 (
defiantlyyours). Weiss's best scene (NWS). 6's best scene (very safe... except for giggles).
February
* Turned 24.
* Watched the Oscars with the family. Redoubled commitment to hating Jack Nicholson.
March
* Discovered Twin Peaks. OMG.
* I started doing a Cinema Blog here, which eventually morphed into the actual blog Cinema-Geek.com.
* The Midnite Movie Mamacita's Grindhouse Redux started up and the roommate and I have been fairly faithful attendees.
April
* Quit Fandom High
* Was INSANE at work
* I saw Grindhouse and Hot Fuzz in theaters -- twice each.
* New Who!
May
* Became quantum_gazebo temporarily.
* My company merged with another company.
June
* Classic-Horror, the all-new Awesome Edition is unveiled. Whenever Classic-Horror starts sucking, I just tell it to be awesome instead. True story.
* Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker consumes my brain.
* Roger Ebert a letter that I sent him regarding his dismissal of Dead Teenager Movies
July
* COMIC-CON -- met Robert Englund, Jeffrey Combs, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett. Motherf**ker.
* And another letter published by Ebert, this time in tandem with the Dead Teenager 100 put up by Michael Gurnow, Horror Bob, and The Horror Review.
August
* Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II ate my brain.
* So did Comic-Con articles
September
* I wrote an insane number of reviews
* Including one for Hatchet which is awesome.
October
* Posted/wrote an insane number of reviews for Classic-Horror for our Shocktober event.
* Attended the International Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival in Tempe. Saw Dawn of the Dead and The Terminator on the big screen.
* Interviewed personal writing idol Tim Lucas for Classic-Horror
November
* Became a Mac user
* Moved to new digs
* Cut off my long hair
* Promoted to Supervisor
December
* Tweaked Classic-Horror to be More Awesome
* Discovered the joys of How I Met Your Mother. What up?
* Visited
lizbetann,
diannelamerc, and
airawyn in Los Angeles.
* Saw Sweeney Todd twice in theaters.
