I just applied to ASU's Film program for the Winter 2007 semester.

I may actually be going back to school in the next 7-8 months...

I was thinking, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained". I need to make some forward progress myself. :)

Thanks. My big concern is getting residency. They don't like people to be residents, academically-speaking.

Huh, really? That's weird. Normally places DO like people to be residents, academically. We have a film program at the university I work for, but I can't find anything about their residency requirements. I know university-wide, we require a certain number of hours to be completed at the home school instead of from transfer credits.

Oh, the Arizona Board of Reagents likes their money.... I pay 15,000 dollars a year for school, which is 10,000 more than residents. And have been fighting for residency for three years. The newest catch is that because I make less than 23,000 dollars a year and my loan is cosigned, I'm not financially independent. I'm just eat ramen for fun or something.

*grumbles* I live here year round, rent an aparment here year round, work here year round, pay taxes here, have my insurance through here, a bank account here, an AZDL, my car registration here and have cut off all ties to other states except calling my parents once a week... but I'm not a resident.

On the brightside for our beloved monkey here, however, is that its usually much easier to get residency if you don't transfer from another university. Returning students have an easier time than continuing ones.

That is NUTS! You poor thing! What a bunch of money-hungry freaks your state educators are! :(

Um... that should be regents, no reagents. They're people, not my organic chemistry homework.

Err.. Yeah.
