I felt like an old man last night. [livejournal.com profile] midnightfae and I went to Borders and they had a Buy 3, get 1 free sale for all DVDs. Very impressive. However, everywhere I turned, I was crochety old man guy. "I've seen that on Amazon/Deep Discount DVD/whatever for 5-10 dollars less! No way!" I eventually picked out eight films, but it took me two hours, during which time I'm sure [livejournal.com profile] midnightfae was getting quite tired of my meticulous film antics.

What I picked up:
Dracula: Prince of Darkness/Satanic Rites of Dracula Double Feature
Gremlins Special Edition
Invasion of the Body Snatchers '56
Natural Born Killers: Director's Cut
The Usual Suspects Special Edition
Jackie Brown Special Edition
Much Ado About Nothing (YAY!)
Sideways

Then we went to Cheesecake Factory and had cheesecake. It was divine -- so much so that I could not finish it, and ate the leftovers for breakfast this morning. Delish!

I'm very behind on Classic-Horror, though. Bad webmaster! No biscuit!

You know, Jackie Brown is like the only Tarantino film I don't enjoy thoroughly? I don't know why. I can't put my finger on it.

Cheesecake for breakfast? oooooh.

I feel the same way about Jackie Brown and I'm a huge Tarantino fan. I think it might have something to do with the fact that he didn't write it. I dunno, that's just my two cents.

I haven't seen Jackie Brown since it first came out all those years ago. I'm interested. I know it's probably not his best film -- but I couldn't resist a 2-disc special edition for 15 bucks.

Hee! I did the exact same thing when my mom took me Christmas shopping last month. I wasn't even paying for the stuff, she was, all I had to do was pick out what I wanted. Still, I was all, "You can get that cheaper on Amazon. It's ridiculous to pay that much." It took me over half an hour to finally find something that was on sale for only $2 more than Amazon's price.

Yeah. Online DVDs are almost always cheaper. If not at Amazon, then at deepdiscountdvd.com or something else... Still, there's something to be said for looking over the merchandise physically before purchase.

Oh hush. When I finally grew bored, I wandered off into the picture books in search of old childhood favorites, which they didn't have. Bums.

Besides, even if I had been painfully bored, cheesecake would have made up for it. *cheesecakeswoon* My god... cheesecake.

Yes. Cheesecake. Cheesecake could have prevented the fall of the Roman empire, made Billy the Kid an upstanding citizen, and given Barbara Bush enough alleviation to her sexual frustration that we might never have suffered the wrath of Dubya.
