Con Con Whose Got the Con?

This year, Writercon, a fan convention devoted to fanfiction writers, and Comic-Con, the single largest geek convention on planet Earth (with an attendance that exceeds the population of my hometown which has about 100k people), are taking place on the same weekend in late July. Poor planning, I say. I'm trying to gauge my flist's preference on this one (and non-flist is welcome too! Tell your friends! Tell your enemies! Tell your frenemies!).

It's not that hard to twist that response into "Neither, but if I were, I'd go to x"

Neither implies that one is not going, probably implies that one is seriously considering it with probable favorable outcome, but is not certain. This is very serious difference and could skew the results of your poll.

I also think I just demonstrated the need for a mandatory half hour waiting period between waking up and typing anything. But logic so tasty.

Of course, my attendance counts on my being employed AND being able to take the time off, and being able to afford the trip.

The thing with WriterCon is (for people not familiar) it's 90% Jossverse - it's all about fanfic, but for the most part just Buffy/Angel/Firefly. Though they're branching out a wee bit this year to include other fandoms too, I'm not sure how far and in what capacity.

I'm going to Writercon because it's only the second one and they don't have it every year. I can go to Comic Con next year.

I would LOVE to go to Writercon someday, but if given a choice between the two, I'd rather go to Comic Con. This year, I can't do either, but I hope that one year in the not too distant future they don't hold the events on the same weekend. :/
