I have the shiny new 30th Anniversary Jaws DVD, which is slightly funny because I already have the old 25th Anniversary Jaws DVD. Put it down for me being an ultra-cool horror webmaster who gets free stuff. Anyway, watched it and all the documentary material. I don't know what it is with me and "mass market" films, but for some reason, movies that grab at the imagination of millions... I always have a disconnect with. I get why they are the way they are, but I can't get up the same kind of obsessive mania I reserve for films like Brazil and Harold and Maude. Lord of the Rings is a significant exception, but Peter Jackson will always own me.
Not that I don't love Jaws. Because I really do. I'm just not fennish about it.
I'm watching "Chosen" with Joss commentary right now. Sarah Michelle Gellar is distractingly emaciated. It makes her nose look funny.
Oh, yes. And Happy Birthday,
qkellie!
