jetpack_monkeyWorked on my novel today to try to avoid the madness going down. Decided that a vampire novel really wasn't cutting it, especially with all of the comparisons to Angel and Blade that people have been making, so I've written out the entire supernatural element.
* Lucas is now just a normal average 20-something slacker.
* Tessa dies about five chapters after we meet her - mainly for kicks.
* Anthony is now a drifter with the glint of mischief in his eye - no more killing people for him. Flashbacks will reveal a past as a political advisor for Dukakis in '88.
* Beth, Tessa's roomie, becomes the main hero of the story about halfway through, after Lucas decides that the plot is too much work. She goes on to study and win the Nobel Peace Prize and the Pulitzer. It's a story of triumph over ADD.
* Stewart, the night manager, and Beth get married and it's revealed that Stewart is really a nice guy who just really hated his job.
* Lucas finally graduates college and becomes editor-in-chief of National Lampoon magazine.
* Bluto, played by John Belushi, becomes a US Senator.
* The Smurfs will make a cameo appearance as wacky drug dealers.
* Three quarters of the way through the novel, Falco will arrive to deliver an important message to Lucas - but will not be understood as he delivers it entirely in German.
* One of the characters will reveal that they are secretly a Sunnydale Sock.
* Jem and He-Man will both show up and guide Tessa back from the afterlife to save the day.
* Ernest Borgnine will be elected President, throwing the world into chaos.
* Sliders will return to television, lending credence to one of the overriding dramatic theme of forgiveness.
* Angel will get a sixth season, because its my novel, dammit.
* Dungeonmaster Whedon will be revealed as the puppetmaster behind the Quartex Dominion.
* Julia Roberts will be stopped from her baby-eating addiction by Paul Michael Glaser.

qkellie's novel will appear briefly in the epilogue.
* Lucas will be drafted into the French Foreign Legion and find himself fighting side by side with Gary Coleman, Alec Baldwin, and Tyne Daly.
* Anthony will try to ingratiate himself to the Dalai Lama so he can get the secret of Buddhist Mince Pie.
* Stewart will enter the world of marketing and accidentally slip into a timewarp that has him promoting a new beverage called "Mountain Dew"
* Julia Roberts will have a relapse, and Brad Pitt, George Clooney, John Schneider, and Cloris Leachman will stage an intervention.
I hate having to start from the beginning, but it should be a really amazing book once it's all done.
