Notes: For reasons that I'm not entirely clear on, there was a conspiracy to make Brad all of the Festivids, but to Beyoncé songs. Despite being only vaguely aware of Beyoncé's work, I signed on. And then he requested a lot of things I wasn't that interested in vidding. *curse you Brad*
On a whim, I checked out one of the requested fandoms, Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin', on Youtube and found that I really dug it. Previously, I'd caught an episode here or there, but I was put off by the baby-talk in the intros and assumed that it was consistent throughout the series. It is not. Phew. It's actually completely awesome.
Generally speaking, it's a funny series with a deep and abiding love for gaming, a twisted sense of humor, and intelligence woven underneath the facade of blithe stupidity. There's some problematic stuff peppered throughout the series, but the creators (Ashly and Anthony Burch) are always quick to own up to mistakes they made and often leave content warnings (or outright pleas to avoid) at the beginning of older vids in the annotations.
Making the vid also lead me to play Borderlands 2 for research, since Anthony wrote it and Ash did voice acting. However, I developed a bit of a problem where I couldn't not play Borderlands 2 for a while. I beat the game three different times and was halfway through a fourth when I finally managed to extricate myself from the infinite gun possibilities and different potential character builds.
Interesting trivia: Radio is my 50th vid total and probably the last one I'll make in Final Cut Express 4. At this point I've completely switched over to Final Cut Pro X, which is generally less frustrating for meat-and-potatoes vidding.
