jetpack_monkey: (The Doctor (11) - Silly Person)

No spoilers here, but I think that may have been the first truly bad episode of the Matt Smith era. Not only chockfull of plot holes, but also dead boring.

Thank goodness that Neil Gaiman is swooping in next week to pick things up a bit.

well, i know this isn't saying much, but it was a good first ep ever for my kids, who are 6 and 4.

I felt bored by it in the end, yet somehow I still prefer it to Victory of the Daleks.

I enjoyed it... but then I can be very easy to please! I liked that Amy was a bit more front/center than the Doctor being clever. Plus that random woman in the random boat opening thing was creepy, weird, and made me highly intrigued!

I feel that Victory of the Daleks was at least funny in parts. I did think about it before I committed to the "first truly bad" thing.

I've read that some of the plot holes were due to editing fail (like the disappearing pirate) and that this episode was supposed to air later in the season and had Schrodenwomb awkwardly tacked on the end. So yeah, not their best work.

That was the one part of the episode I truly didn't like- the "is she or isn't she" nonsense is gonna get old damn fast.
