Iron Man...

Is completely awesome. They wisely focused more on Tony Stark's process of becoming Iron Man than normal superheroics, which is good, because Stark is the important part of the Iron Man story. Certain stuff set-up for a sequel/continuation. None-too-subtle flashes of Tony/Rhodes which should keep the slashers happy. Be sure to stick around after the credits for what is probably the most squeeful scene in the entire film.

Definitely agreed on the awesome, and I had almost no idea what I was going into, having never read a comic in my life.

Sadly, totally did not stick around after the credits. Mostly because we had a train to catch if we wanted to get home on time. Heh.

...They put him back in after cutting him from the press screenings, didn't they?

We're gonna try to hit that either tonight or tomorrow. I'm barely familiar with the character, but I do love me some good RDJ. I may even see Tropic Thunder, although perhaps that's taking things too far.

Sorry. Neither The X-Files nor The Happening. The Dark Knight, new Indiana Jones trailer, new Incredible Hulk trailer... other stuff that I can't recall.

Just got back from the film. You were right, it's the best super-hero film I've seen in quite a long time. I'm thoroughly entertained by it. I was surprised at how good of a job Robert Downey Jr did.

Great rec -- I went to see it tonight based on what you said, and I'm glad I did.

See, this is why I am awesome. Didja stay through the credits?

(incidentally, I went to see it again tonight -- I am such a dork)

Also, I've added you to [livejournal.com profile] lanky_writing, where you can read the rough draft of my novel-in-progress.

Yup, stayed all the way through. Wouldn't have otherwise. Very, very glad I did. M didn't get it, as she's not a comic book geek. =)

(Nothing wrong with seeing it again. It's a great big-screen film.)

Haha. Glad to hear it.

Man, I can't wait for that to come out on DVD so I cap the hell out of that cameo at the end.
