I thought *I* had no life...
May. 16th, 2004 01:08 amWhile researching potential Universal Horror/Buffyverse crossover fic (trying to imagine how a Slayer might have affected the outcome of one of the "House of" entries or even "Son of Dracula"), I came across this weird little timeline.
What it essentially tries to do is take disparate accounts of the same legends and fuse them together. All fictional stories (movies, novels, comics, etc.) are really historical accounts with all of the inherent inaccuracies and biases. There's accounts for no less than five different Draculas, four Frankensteins (it incorporates the canon of Mary Shelley, Universal, Hammer, and Young Frankenstein) and Dr. Everett Scott. Yes, The Rocky Horror Picture Show is on the timeline.
As is Buffy Summers. According to this timeline, Hank's father was a descendant of the Van Helsing family, and he has an older sister that he hasn't seen since he was very young. Oh, yeah. And that Dracula guy who Buffy slayed in Season 5? One of Dracula-Prime's soul clones, specificially the one correlated in modern fiction to Lestat, posing as his souldaddy.
Oh, and the guy behind this really loathes Anne Rice. To quote: Reports show that this former soul clone eventually made its way to New Orleans, Louisiana. In the 1970’s a hack romance novelist took the homeless vampire in to her home and in exchange for room and board, the vampire, told the writer exaggerated tales of his wretched life. The writer turned these tales into a series of best selling semi-pornographic novels. The Lestat clone, according to our sources was destroyed, in Sunnydale, CA. by the latest incarnation, of the mysterious Order of Slayers, in the year 1999.
Anyway, *I* found it amusing.
