jetpack_monkey: (Oh - shit.)
My Internet Explorer is - inexplicably - refusing to load images on certain sites (like Livejournal and IMDb.com). It's not giving me little boxes with x's either. It's just not showing the graphics (unless they're in my cache).

This bugs me. What's really annoying is that it's having none of the same problems for my own website, classic-horror.com.

Weird.

Bugger. Bugger. Bugger. Bugger.

Images still not loading in IE6. To make matters worse, this problem is also preventing me from downloading files, so I can't grab Opera or something to circumvent the issue.

Bugger.

I've

- cleaned my cache
- cleared my cookies
- reduced my resolution to 1024 x 768
- run a virus scan (clean)
- run an adware scan (found and destroyed a few)
- reset my Internet connection
- rebooted my computer
- double-checked my settings to make sure they are still set to display images (they are)
- I even checked for registry fixes, but all of them told me to do things that don't apply (like delete keys I don't have, etc).

Bugger.

ETA: Fixed. I found a registry fix based on one I'd already tried that involved switching the Western European ISO character something to the standard something something. I don't why the fuck it works like that, but it does.

ETA2: Strike that. It's ONLY working on Livejournal for some reason. Bugger.

ETA3: Strike that AGAIN. It's only working for the first few pages I loaded on LJ. The rest? Pffft.
jetpack_monkey: (Don't fuck with the master)
Have said Fuck You IE6. Have managed to beat it into submission until it let me download Opera. Opera displaying images perfectly. Take that Bill Gates motherfucker.

Alright, long story... well, not long story short, because I don't know how to tell a short story, do I?
Even though it's almost completely unnecessary to tell, and is therefore cuttagged so I can get to the meat of the message )
I'm asking that if you're a fan of horror films, or if you know somebody who's a fan of horror films who doesn't mind mindless research, to get in touch with me.

I have about 150 titles I'm trying to transfer to the new design, and it would help if I could skip the research aspect of all lot of that.

What it would entail is visiting the Internet Movie Database and getting some rudimentary information - Title, Year of Release, Director, MPAA Rating, Running Time, Studio, Four Most Prominent Actors (and three other films horror or not, that they've been in), Writer (and three other films), and any Trivia you can glean.

I can assign a lot or a few titles, but if you want to do this, you have to do the titles you commit to. A person can do just 5. A person can do 25. It's up to them - so long as it gets done.

I'm honestly not expecting a huge response, but even just a little relief would be nice. For your troubles, I'd leave a little credit on the reviews you did stating - Information gathered by ____ and a thank you note in the About section.

The new design can be seen here - http://testme.classic-horror.com - if you want a point of reference.
