Let's Clean Up in Anticipation of the New Year

I just e-mailed Jef my resignation from the Jester'z (the improv troupe I trained under for a year and then performed with for another 6 months after that). They've made some changes to how the L3 players are handled, and it just doesn't sound like my cup of tea. It's not like my heart's been in it, anyway. It's been a good run, wish I could have done more with it, but I let things get away from me. It's probably best just to make the clean cut.

ETA: But this is the coolest commercial ever. No CGI or special effects here, folks. Just a bunch of cameras, the hills of San Francisco, 250,000 superballs, and something every kid would die to do (and pretty much every adult, too). Also available in low-res

I am *so* going to find 250,000 superballs... if it takes me 20 years to save up that many, so be it.

*hugs*

Yeah, but it'd freakin' RAWK!

I saw that ad on Czech TV this fall.... it made me wanna get a bunch of superballs and release them down the big hill that leads to the Charles Bridge in Prague!

Wow. That would be so cool.

Bummer about quitting improv, but the New Year's a great time to reorganize your life. *hugs*

Yup. I did a quick self-examine and found that I've actually ended three major responsibilities in the past month. I'm really starting clean.

Sorry to see you go, but I understand. I am personally excited about what they're doing, but I know that not everyone will be. I hope you enjoyed your time while it lasted, though.

I'm sorry, too. This way I can focus on my writing, though, which improv has actually helped me with immensely.

Are you sure? Looks dubious. 'Cuz I *love* the commercial, but I'd be willing to swear 95% of those balls are CGI...

[identity profile] jetpack-monkey.livejournal.com 2005-12-24 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
Pretty sure. They shut down San Francisco's Russian Hill neighborhood to film it. I didn't believe it at first either, but then the irony kind of dawned on me. Have we become so inundated with falsified images that we'll stop believing reality if it's astounding enough?

Dude... then that is extremely cool...

And yeah, it's sad I have trouble beliving it's real just because CGI's gotten that good (and become that prevalent)...

Yup. You can check out some Making Of videos at the same page and see them actually launch said superballs. It's pretty awesome.
