Things I Must Not Forget

Throw it open -- when going to Comic-Con (or any major geek gathering), what are some items you always make sure to bring?

I'll start:

  • Watch

  • Advil

  • Teddy Grahams

  • Extra bag for swag

  • The printout thing with your registration barcode
  • Gummi Bears for chewing during plane landings
  • Water. Also, more water. And water. (Which I suppose has to be checked now, if you're flying.)
  • Granola bars
  • Cash
  • Writing implements of some sort
  • Desk to hit head on after talking to an 31337 Security rentamoron

Hey... for the chewing and the ear nasty - taking some sudafed before landing/take-off also seems to help. Also, there's something called Ear Planes, which are these weird ear plugs. Maybe they'll help with Mandy's ear wonk?

    Sharpies, in various colors.
    Poster tube(s).
    Comfortable backpack for carrying loot.
    Nalgene bottle for refillable hydration.
At least four packs of cigarettes.
    Two lighters.
Cell phone chargers, both AC and mobile.

. . . you know, if I actually brought a watch with me, maybe I wouldn't end up buying one every year.

The Magnificent Schpadoinkle, camera, knitting, phone, jacket, keys, PANTS.

    I MUST NOT FORGET PANTS.

Sudafed! (the real stuff, none of this PE crap that doesn't even WORK)
    chewing gum
    ear plugs
cell phone for texting people from 5 feet away, omg

Saw "Advil", read "Anvil" and thought "Why would you need an anvil for Comic-Con? Is this some sort of Warner Brothers cartoon reference joke that I'm not getting?" Then I re-read it and realized, "No, I'm just stupid." Moving does unfortunate things to your brain.

I'd definitely second the phone charger.

Judging by the current contents of my suitcase, 6 pairs of socks, 3 bathing suits and 5 billion dollars worth of Power Rangers toys for [livejournal.com profile] kimera.

*poke* Don't forget your pants. Trust me. You will need pants. *shifty eyes*

    *looks suspicious*

Are you planning to STEAL them?

    [identity profile] midnightfae.livejournal.com 2007-07-18 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
*coughcough* I beg your pardon! I am many things, madame, but I am NOT a pants thief. Nope. No pants stealing here.

    -extra batteries for camera/recorder
-headphones for your audio listening device of choice
-extra pens (especially you need extra pens, I think)
-granola bars or trail mix or some slightly filling portable snack food
    -empty container for water
-sheets, as we do not know the condo sheet situation
    -towels, for the same reason
    -bandaids
    -headache meds
    -your other meds
    -con barcode ticket things
-I bring 2 pairs of comfy shoes to alternate so my foot does not grow tired of the same one, but that might be because I am a girl.

I'm bringing pillows and blankets, since there will be more people than beds.

    [identity profile] kittycat22.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
Bringing for everyone, or for you two?

Not that I expect you in anyway to carry the blanket load for everyone, I just don't want to bring stuff if I don't need to. ;)

    [identity profile] midnightfae.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
I'm brining at least four pillows, and... probably four blankets too. I figure people can also share the blankets if need be. They're not super heavy blankets, but it shouldn't really be all that cold.

Wow, I'm glad you guys are discussing this, because it hadn't even occurred to me to bring bedding things!

Also, I must have Claritin and extra contact lenses with me. I never lose a contact lens, but on trips, I'm always convinced I'm going to lose one, so I bring my next month's set of disposables with me whenever I travel.

    [identity profile] kittycat22.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
OK, sounds good. I'll bring a set of sheets and my pillow, though, too.

And, yeah, I doubt we'd need anything that heavy, cause it's all lovely and nice in San Diego. :)

    [identity profile] steinba.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
And sometimes it's 100 degrees omg

    [identity profile] kittycat22.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
But oh so very rarely. :)

But that is a reason I'm just bringing sheets, and no blanket. I need to be covered, but it doesn't have to be heavy.
