Catching Up on Television
BSG's Season 3 premiere makes my head hurt. I don't think I'll be following the show this season, but only because it is so brilliant that I really need DVD to go over and study it.
Gets 3.5 out of 4 possible Grunbergs. Matt Parkman is shaping up to be my favorite English-speaking character in this show. Not just because it's Weiss, but because it's not. I can see why they're putting Grunberg front and center on a lot of the online promos -- he's the Everyman. He's the working class Joe America. He's not a sleazeball, or exceptionally pretty, or terribly intelligent, or a goofy geek. He's just a Guy -- and that's always been Grunberg's appeal. He plays a character who you want to have a beer with, but this time... he's got issues. And he's got his own story to work through for once which, yay upgrade. I'm loving it, I really am.
*wishes somebody on cap_it would hurry up with the 1x02 and 1x03 caps already*
Hiro is still lovable as ever. He's changing the future while living the predestiny. I'm not sure he's aware of the contradiction there -- he may be setting himself up for some serious trauma-inducing paradox. His friend has a good point. What if Hiro makes it worse? He nearly got the girl in the street killed in the first place. That truck would have never swerved if he hadn't been there looking for it.
Still care for Ali Larter's character and the brothers Petrelli aren't doing a hell of a lot for me either. Claire's story is creepifying though. Autopsy. Ew.
Also, made some new icons, but I'm waiting to post them until I have a larger set. There's some non-Weiss in this bunch, too.
