My Week in Movies: September 15 - 21

90% of my week was taken up by Borderlands 3, but I did manage to watch three things:

The Ruling Class (1972)
La Jetée (1962)
Poseidon (2006) with [personal profile] sol_se

I loved The Ruling Class, although it could've stood about twenty minutes shorn from it. It's a black comedy/satire of British nobility, inheritance, and what constitutes sanity. It is extremely problematic, re: mental health, but pushing past that, it's a lot of fun. It's also nearly a musical for some reason.

La Jetée is not a feature film, but a short, made up of still photographs (with one exception). It's the inspiration for Twelve Monkeys. I enjoyed it! Very thoughtful, although having seen Twelve Monkeys, I was somewhat spoiled.

Poseidon is pure popcorn, although both sol_se and I were surprised that characters that take some morally dubious actions are not later punished for them. So that was interesting.
