Besides, Scotty was actually much trimmer in the original series.

Heh. True.

I'm still not sure what to make of this 'reboot'. The cast so far is a bizarre mixed bag. I... it's strange, because classic Trek may be one of the few things where I might actually have some sort of feeling towards not 'remaking/reimagining'

Yes, but. Simon Pegg.

There is only one thing I will not see Simon Pegg in, and that's Mission: Impossible III, because I have personal objections to Tom Cruise.

I have a bad feeling about this. I love old Trek, cheese and all, and am in fear of this remake.

On the other hand, I vowed never to watch the BSG remake, and look where that got me.
