My Life as a Clown Henchman

Actually, it was more like my hour as a clown henchman. [livejournal.com profile] ktl and [livejournal.com profile] seeshellirun are participating in the 48-Hour Film Project, wherein they have to make a 4-7 minute film in a 48 hour period of time, utilizing elements assigned to them. They have to write the script, shoot the thing, and edit it in exactly two days.

I was called in to portray a clown. Not exactly casting against type, I know, but I was a special clown. I was a thug/henchman posing as a clown for complicated and humorous reasons. I didn't have any lines -- my job was to look menacing and chase the priest (it's a very weird script which I like quite a bit).

However, this is not as simple as it sounds. Upon arriving at the location, I had to shuck my shoes off and ease my body into a clown suit built for a man about a foot shorter than me. That thing rode up to places I was not comfortable having things ride up. Then, I had to put on the clown collar and funny hat with yarn hair. This was all over my street clothes, so I was wearing two layers on hot Arizona summer afternoon. To make matters more interesting, I had a dot of red paint on the end of my nose (my idea) that itched like a big itchy thing.

I was sweaty. I was uncomfortable. I was having way too much fun. We must've done five takes of the same scene (which was actually unwritten and improvised due to time constraints). Each time I ended up holding [livejournal.com profile] production12a by the seat of his pants so he didn't topple over a concrete wall (okay, he probably wouldn't have toppled, but I'm neurotic).

Then I came home and cursed bittorrent for not downloading the new Doctor Who fast enough.

That didn't go at all like I had it in my head. But but but -- OT3! It's so canon now. Jack loves Rose and Jack loves the Doctor and the Doctor loves Rose. They should all have crazy sex, that is if they hadn't abandoned Jack and there wasn't that whole regeneration thing.

I keep playing the last minute over and over again. David Tennant unnerves me for some reason. Might be a post-regeneration thing. Still, I'm excited to see what he can do. He's certainly the most youthful-looking Doctor ever (although not the youngest - that honor goes to Peter Davison, the 5th Doctor).

I'm going to miss Christopher Eccleston something awful. He was so very incredible as the Doctor.
