I have called myself an outgoing introvert for a long time. And I think it is a useful concept! I find large groups of people either draining or terrifying or sometimes both, but I am usually fine with medium sized ones if I know most of the people already (so, family and friends I do fine with and I can deal with larger groups of people I know than I can of people I don't). And I love small groups people, ie, not more than about 5 other folks!
But there's limits, because being around anyone that's not someone I live with or my braintwin or a very few other people does require an investment of my brain and energy. It isn't that I don't enjoy seeing people! I love seeing people! But I don't get energy from it, it takes energy, which I feel is basically the definition of an introvert.
