Flames Down the Side of My Face

I just got a call from a real live person asking me if they could count on my support for Arizona Proposition 102, the "faith-based initiative" to "define marriage as being between one man and one woman."

My response: "You people are insane. Don't call here again." *click*

Fucking assholes.

If you're in Arizona, for the love of everything awesome, get to the polls on Tuesday, vote No on Proposition 102. Love should not be legislated.

From California, home of the similar fight over Prop 8, I salute you, sir.

I feel almost left out that I have gotten no political calls about anything this year. I haven't even had anyone I didn't agree with knock on my door. It's almost boring! When do I get to yell at people?

I am mildly surprised you kept it to that! Heh.

There was no ballot issue such as that in NC this year. The only issue I got to vote on was a food tax.

Proposition 2 here in Florida gets a NO! vote from me. Stupid arsing morons. It burns me up that people are so close-minded as to believe that love, between any gender or race for that matter, is wrong.

Whenever someone starts to argue over this with me, I ask them one simple question. What about someone who's a transgender? Is it okay for them to marry someone who, technically speaking, is of the same sex? That usually shuts them up real quick. *g*

Ditto in California, too. No on 8.

It's worse here. The Prop 8 people are insane and well-funded. My neighbors have a sign that says, "YES on 8 = Defending Families"

I mean, the hell? Defending them from who?

And the ads... they're just shy of outright lies, and that's if I'm being generous. They've got people believing that gay marriage will taught in school and that churches will lose their tax exempt status if they don't perform same-sex marriages.
